We worked with Regional Development Victoria, relevant industry partners, the Geelong Port, the freight and logistics industry, SME enterprises and industry stakeholders to provide a high-level economic impact and opportunity assessment resulting from the Tasmanian TT Line Ferry service moving from docking at Station Pier to the Geelong Port.

During the study, the direct and immediate business opportunity identified was associated with freight handling and the leveraging and potential expansion of logistics capability and services within the greater Geelong region.
Primary Opportunities:
- Logistics support for handling, cross-docking for tautliner trailers (20ft Equivalent)
- Cold Chain Support for Fresh produce.
- Bulk perishable commodity management for international export.
- Market share gain from expanded facilities.
- Market share gain from improved utilisation of available crossing space.
As part of the project we mapped out the GeelongPort Capability Roadmap encompassing Port Facilities, Regional Enhancements and the addition/transition to new larger Ferries.
