ICT Maturity Assessment
ITIL
Operations Management
Michael Holzer was engaged by Grow Finance to conduct an independent due diligence review of its internal ICT environment, controls, and processes. This engagement was initiated as part of Grow Finance’s broader growth strategy and in preparation for external investment and legal review. The objective was to evaluate the maturity, effectiveness, and alignment of the ICT environment with business objectives, and to provide the Board with assurance that the platform met best practice standards.
Advisory Services & Methodology
Michael Holzer led the engagement through Strategic Executive Solutions, delivering a structured evaluation across multiple ICT domains. The methodology combined two key frameworks:
ITIL Maturity Assessment – A high-level review of Grow Finance’s ICT operations across five ITIL domains: Service Strategy, Service Design, Service Transition, Service Operation, and Continual Service Improvement.
Online Applications Health Check – A detailed assessment of infrastructure, application architecture, development practices, and operational support.
Approach:
Michael conducted a thorough review of Grow Finance’s ICT documentation, systems architecture, project management and operational processes. This included assessing the maturity of core systems such as the Grow Portal, Salesforce CRM, Trade Finance platform, and Microsoft 365. The analysis identified gaps in strategic alignment, architecture consistency, project management and operational standardisation.
Michael recommended the implementation of a formal IT governance model, including the development of a technology operations framework and program management function. These frameworks would enable Grow Finance to monitor project delivery, manage risks, and align technology investments with business priorities.
The evaluation highlighted opportunities to improve benefits realisation through better alignment of IT initiatives with business strategy. Michael proposed the development of a formal IT strategy and enterprise architecture to support scalable growth.
Conclusion
Michael Holzer’s work on the Grow Finance ICT Assessment exemplifies his expertise in delivering high-value advisory services. His approach combined rigorous analysis, stakeholder engagement, and strategic foresight to deliver actionable insights and a clear path forward for ICT maturity and business alignment.
